Udupi, Oct 4: UNICEF Prasara Bharathi national award winner Disha Communications, Katpadi, Udupi and Kaup Vidyaniketan group of educational institutions will hold Karavali Short films festival at Vidyaniketan Seminar hall on Sunday October 5. The Karavali Kalakar award will be presented during the programme.
'Rang' Tulu film actor Dikshita Acharya, 'Nanu Hemanth Avalu Sevanthi' film actor Rajaneesh, ETV Indian reality show fame Sushmaraj and 'Kotichennaya' Kannada serial producer Ashok M Suvarna will be felicitated with the Karavali Kalakar awards.

Artiste Prakash and group will present soft music as part of the cultural programme under the sponsorship of the department of Kannada and Culture. Jerry Vincent Dais, producer of Mahanadi and D K films will present the awards during the programme.
Dr P V Bhandary, well-known Psychiatrist of Udupi, Lalaji R Mendon, former MLA of Kaup constituency, Udupi's well-known entrepreneur Harish Kini Alevooru, Padubidri businessman Y Sukumar, Udupi Ayush Federation of India president Dr U K Shetty and Kaup JCI president Anil Kumar will be the chief guests.

Five Kannada and four Tulu films selected for the festival are 'Charmadi,' directed by Prajwal Bhat-Vikas, Jeeva directed by Ganesh Kandloor, Mukhamuta directed by DBC Shekar, Sanchalana directed by Anirudh Bhat, Antarala directed by Jayaprakash C S, Gujiri directed by Bhaskar Manipal, Badk directed by Prabhakar Acharya, Baleda Badk directed by Brijesh Manipal, Satyadigeda Mann directed by Jayakar Saligeri and Olavina Rani Video Album directed by H Bheemrao Vashkar will be shown during the programme, said Karavali short film committee president K P Acharya and Karavali Short film committee director Prakash Suvarna Katpadi in the news release.
