Mumbai, Oct 9: Maharashtra Konkan Sangeet Academy was inaugurated by renowned Konkani writer and editor of Kutam Konkani weekly, Henry D’Paula at St Jude School at Jerimeri.
Fr Michael D’Souza, parish priest of Jerimeri blessed the occasion while Fr Hubert Goveas conveyed his wishes for the music academy. Music classes were inaugurated by Lawrence Coelho, editor of Divo Konkani weekly.
Susan Coelho, correspondent of Secular Citizen, English weekly, noted musician Benjamin Miranda and Benedicta Rebello, social activist and director of Model Cooperative Bank were also present on the dais.
Konkani poet V D’Silva, Bernard Lo, Ron Michael, businessman Joseph Thoras were also present on the occasion.
Leo Fernandes welcomed the gathering while Walter D’Souza introduced the guests to the gathering. Benedicta Rebello proposed the vote of thanks.
