Two animal traps were laid in the Amyalagudde area with the help of the locals Avinash, Madhav Kulal, Poornesh,Prashanth and Chetan under the supervision of Venur and Bantwal forest officials. A puppy was kept in one of the traps to attract the leopard to come. The leopard that really came ended up being trapped.

The wild animal which attracted a big crowd was later transported to Kudremukh forest region and let out to have its freedom.
