Daijiworld Media Network – Bantwal (RJP)

Bantwal, Sep 30: A leopard which had created terror in the Chennaithodi Vamadapadavu region has been trapped at last.
The female leopard is said to be 4 years old.

The terror of the leopard had been going on for the past one and half years when the people from the area kept on losing their domestic animals. A special petition was given to Venur Forest department recently after many complaints to the concerned forest authorities. The forest officials had tried their best to contain the activities of the leopard in vain.

3 days back it was reported that the leopard had appeared again which intensified the hunt for it. Two animal traps were laid in the Amyalagudde area with the help of the locals Avinash, Madhav Kulal, Poornesh,Prashanth and Chetan under the supervision of Venur and Bantwal forest officials. A puppy was kept in one of the traps to attract the leopard to come. The leopard that really came ended up being trapped.

As per reports, in the 220 acres land belonging to the forest department in the region, the population of wild animals have come down drastically which in turn prompt the leopards to venture into the nearby villages in search of food.

The veterinary medical officer Dr. Ashok, Forest officers Subrahmanya Achar and Yashodara and local businessman Puroshothama Shetty among others were involved in the operation. The wild animal which attracted a big crowd was later transported to Kudremukh forest region and let out to have its freedom.

Hobby hunting and poaching has reduced the wildlife population. Furthermore, the forests are diminishing at alarming rate due to our never-ending needs. Many of the animal species are already extinct and a lot more are dangerously close to extinction. It is a real and sad fact that we will be leaving concrete jungle and animal look-alike stuffed toys for our future generation.

Relief to the locals and relief to the animal. Let me write here the story of other two animals, that appeared in Mumbai Mirror on Sept.25.
DONKEYS REUNITED TO CONTINUE SEX SCANDAL
The two amorous donkeys who were separated because of an outcry over their lovemaking have been reunited in Poland Zoo. The couple got into trouble when mothers expressed outrage that children had to witness their mating. Later, the director put them in separate pens. But, 7000 people signed a petition to have them reunited. In their decade long union, they produced six offspring.

Pappy is sent to Pappu's house because his aunt is a minister and active and vocal voice of animal protection. Dont worry under her ministry she would sanction 1 crore for the up keepment of the puppy. just kidding.
