Indian shooter Ahmad 5th in skeet qualification 1


Incheon, Sep 29 (IANS): India's Ahmad Mairaj Khan finished fifth in the qualification one of the skeet shooting event of the 17th Asian Games at the Gyeonggido Shooting Range here Monday.

The 38-year-old Ahmad fired a series of 23, 24, 25 to take his tally to 72. China claimed top three places with Fan Zhang (75), Di Jin (74) and Ying Xu (73) respectively.

Other Indians in the fray, Parampal Singh Guron came 24th with a score of 66 (24, 20, 22) and Arozepal Sandhu shot 63 (18, 21, 24) to finish 29th.

World No.1 Kuwaiti Abdullah Alrashidi put up a below-par performance to finish at the eighth spot with a score of 72 (25, 24, 23). The qualification two, where a shooter will get two shots, will take place Tuesday.
