Los Angeles, Sep 25 (IANS): Actor Liam Neeson has been roped in for the upcoming comedy sequel “Ted 2”.
The announcement was made by Seth MacFarlane, writer and director of the film, on Twitter Wednesday.
The 62-year-old actor will reportedly play a civil rights lawyer in the movie which follows the adventures of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) and his living brown bear Ted (MacFarlane), reports contactmusic.com.
"Yesterday Liam Neeson, today Morgan Freeman. Not a bad week for #Ted2. (sic)," MacFarlane wrote.
Freeman, 77, will reportedly play a civil rights lawyer in the movie and, although plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, it is thought that his character will step in to help the foul-mouthed bear when he finds himself in a spot of legal trouble mid-way through the film.
Actress Amanda Seyfried will play the female lead in the movie. Universal Pictures will releases the film June 26 next year.
Ted, released in June 2012, grossed $549.4 million worldwide.
