Suneet Varma forays into jewellery designing

New Delhi, Sep 18 (IANS): After serving the fashion world with best of couture garments, ace designer Suneet Varma has now joined hands with a jewellery brand to create statement necklaces, chandelier earrings and handcrafted bangles.

Varma has collaborated with brand Azva by World Gold Council. The jewellery ensemble in 22K gold is inspired by the brands concept of the seven vows, an integral Indian wedding ritual.

Varma admits that jewellery designing was on his wish list since beginning and he was doing it for family.

"I used to chose jewelleries for my mother and sister, and now I have got a chance to get into the jewellery designing with Azva. The jewellery we have curated together will bring alive exquisite designs and craftsmanship in gold that will appeal to the fashion conscious women of today,” the designer told IANS.

“The designs will be seen complementing the theme of the Art Deco and it bring alive the uniqueness of gold. I've always loved gold and translating my love for gold into jewellery designs, which Azva beautifully created, has been a fabulous experience,” he added.

Azva is set to unveil the jewellery collection Saturday at Varma's show in the capital along with their bridal collection.

Vipin Sharma, director, jewellery at World Gold Council, describes Varma's collection as 'high couture' fashion.

He has used "traditional forms of workmanship from Gujarat yet providing a style that is relevant to the modern Indian bride and with an extremely aspirational appeal.”
