Mangalore, Sep 18: Mangalorean sensation in Tollywood, actor Ester Noronha's debut Kannada movie 'Usiriginta... Neene Hattira' produced under the banner of E K Enterprises is all set to release on October 2.
This was announced at a press meet held at press club here in the city on Thursday September 18.
Addressing the media, director-cum-hero of the film Sooryakiran said, "The movie is based on my friend's love story. It has been shot at places where his friend and his girlfriend spent moments during their courtship. The film has five songs, two of which are sung by famed Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam. The movie has been shot in locations at Bangalore, Mysore and surrounding areas."
He further said that there were many challenges during the shooting at these locations. "The USP of the film is that for the first time in Kannada films, scenes were shot at waterfalls in Mysore. The locals of the area helped us achieve the challenge. The budget of the film is around Rs 2.50 crore," he added.
Ester Noronha said, "I am very excited about the move, and eagerly waiting for its release. It is my debut Kannada film. The songs are romantic and once people listen to them, I am sure they will flock to the theatres to watch the movie."
The shooting of the movie which was initially named 'NIMHANS' had begun in 2012 while the production was completed in 2013. But it got embroiled in controversies pertaining to its title and after a four month court battle the movie was renamed 'Usirigintha... Neene Hattira.'
Ester said she was interested in acting in Tulu movies too and extended gratitude to her mother for her support throughout her film career.
Producer of the film Ravikumar H P, Avinash, musical director and photographer B Suresh Babu were present during the press meet.
