Mangalore: Feast of holy cross concludes at Cordel church

Mangalore, Sep 15: Titular feast of Exaltation of the Holy Cross was celebrated in a grand manner at the Holy Cross church Cordel, Kulshekar here on the Sunday September 14.

Fr Victor Machado, director of Pastoral Institute, Bajjodi celebrated the Eucharistic celebration. Fr Victor Machado gave a meaningful homily on becoming victorious with the cross.

Prior to Eucharistic celebration, parish priest Fr Valerian Pinto felicitated all the donors.  The church flooring was carried out last year. On the occasion of feast of Holy Cross, all donors who contributed for the renovation of the church flooring work were honoured with mementos. Praveen Patrao, vice president of parish pastoral parishad, Michael D’Souza secretary of parish pastoral parishad were present for the felicitation programme.

This feast was preceded by nine days of novena. For the first time in the History of Cordel church, novena of the Holy Cross was conducted and blessing of the Holy Relic of Holy Cross was given.

Many faithful of the parish attended novena masses. The feast day Eucharistic celebration was concelebrated by sixteen priests.

The feast was extra colourful with the different lucky games conducted by various organizations like ICYM, YCS and Altar Boys.
