Kundapur, Sep 13: Gangolli police have arrested a group of four persons for allegedly illegally transporting cows.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Anif (35), Abdul Rahman (27), Hussain (31) and Abu Mohammed (30).

Police, after obtaining definite information, stopped their Omni vehicle at 11.25 pm on Friday September 12 and on questioning found two cows in it. The rear seats were removed to make room for the cows. As the cows were apparently pushed and huddled into the vehicle, one cow had died.

The cows were being transported from Aloor to Gangolli. It is said that the accused had indulged in similar activity in the past also.

It is said that if not for the timely action by the police, the locals and members of a moral policing outfit would have thrashed the accused.

The dead cow was buried near the police station.

The operation was led by Gangolli police inspector Govardhan. Further investigations are on.

It is better to ask with those who make big hue and cry about the method of transportation of cattle. They know very well how to transport as they are experienced in doing so and sell to illegal slaughter houses.
Still some people are not aware of the responsibilities of Ministers\MLAs\MLCs
    They just "LAGAU"

Wonder who reared these cattle and sold them?
See the pathetic condition they are in, half starved. One must have died due to it's starved condition, most probably.
How people make these animals suffer without feeding them properly when they profess outwardly they love them so much?

Commendable effort by the police this time. Please release news if the cattle were purchased then it can not be illegal.

I am also of the opinion that, Muslims should stop eating beef, and switch over to veg foods. It will leave BD goondas jobless, Farmers do not getting anything for the loss of cattles, the prices of vegetables will shoot up and chaddis will start crying..... When they are going to admit that INDIA is the largest exporter of beef to Saudi Arabaia. See how the cattles are slaughtered in Nepal, Wake up guys. silly, jobless guys and double standard chaddis

Sir,F Y I - these local beef consumed by only locals, but the most of the large scale beef exporting company of India is owned by not the Muslims but others.

If the police department got the will power to stop illegal/theft cow business they can do it as simple as it is but how can they survive without monthly MAMOOLU from these guys?

Police inspector name is also GOvardhan, no use they will come out on bribe or bail. Simple logic there is no law for a certain minority in India. One phone call to jayaprakash hegde or siddaramaiah or ut khader and all are released alongwith that vehicle and even the cow.. I have seen numerous examples of police returning cows and buffaloes after seizing it. Remember one phone call from an mla or govt is all it takes.. This is not new its going on daily everywhere. I think people have become used to remaining deaf and dumb to injustice.

O K.They escaped thrash from the moral police but we urge the real police to thrash them until you get tired because these are trouble makers of the society.

If not the intervention of the police, definitely these crooks would have feed the dead cow's meat to the consumers n fill their pockets.
