Bhatkal, Sep 12: Social networking sites have brought together long lost friends, loves and helped families bond. Facebook, specifically has become quite a part of everybody's life and thanks to smartphones and wifi people keep in contact 24/7.
For the youth it is their world - their bubble. Posting pictures, playing games, making friends, finding friends and staying friends - it all is - literally at their fingertips. So it comes as no shock that many also find their life partners online. The same happened to a couple -where in they both lived in different countries and contacted only though Facebook.
Aditya, a fifth semester BSc student hailing from Kasargod, Honnavar taluk, met Michelina, a 29-year-old research student from Holland, Europe met online a while ago. Being miles apart, did not deter the couple from keeping in touch whenever they could and trying to get to know each other. With the passage of time, they became very close and would share everything with each other. This meant they had each incorporated the other person into their lives.
Michelina came to India looking for Aditya and having met each other, the couple decided to begin their lives a anew as each-other's life partner. On Monday September 8, the two of them solemnised their wedding at a Hindu temple while following all the rituals and tradition of a Hindu wedding.
The private ceremony was attended only close family and friends of the groom namely his parents. The bride wore a saree and adorned herself with bangles and toe rings as per tradition. Despite being on her own, Michelina apparently held her own and even dressed herself in an Indian garb without any trouble at all.
Here's wishing the married couple a blessed wedded life.
