Muscat, Sep 8 : The Mangalorean Catholic Centre of the Parish (MCCP – Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi ), is all set to host the semifinal round of the Gulf Voice of Mangalore(GVOM) Season IV on Friday, 19th September, 2014 in the main Parish hall of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Ruwi from 10 am onwards.
The Gulf Voice of Mangalore talent hunt show has created sensation in the Konkani World uniting multitude of Mangaloreans living in the six Gulf countries. Initiated by Lawrence Pinto and Louis Rodrigues from Kuwait, from the time of its origin, the Gulf Voice of Mangalore has come a long way giving opportunities to many young Mangalorean talents across the Middle East.
The first, second and third seasons of the Gulf Voice of Mangalore were successfully organized by the Youth Recreation Center – Kuwait in 2008, Mangalore Konkans – Dubai in 2010 and Mangalore Cultural Association - Doha Qatar in 2012 respectively. The Mangalorean Catholic Centre of the Parish (MCCP Oman) will host the grand finale on Friday, 07th November 2014 at Le Grande Hall of Al Falaj Hotel, Ruwi.
During the Oman auditions of the GVOM - season four held on June 13, 2014 at the Parish hall of the Holy Spirit Church, Ghala, six men and six women proved this saying right as they clashed with many to make a position for themselves in the race to be crowned the Gulf Voice of Mangalore 2014.
The semi-finalists who belted out the best of Konkani songs with their intensity and booming vocals; and wowed the audience and judges with their exceptional singing are as follows :-

All the semi-finalists have gone through the rigorous process of training by Musical Maestro Mr. ApolinarisD’souza. With his soulful voice, years of experience in the field of music and several successful music albums to his credentials, the contestants could not have asked for more. Mr. Apolinaris with his team of acclaimed talents in the field of Music, has taken time out of their busy schedule to embellish and transform the ordinary in the contestants to extraordinary by imparting his matchless knowledge and expertise.
The semi-finals of Oman’s chapter of GVOM-4 will be judged by a panel of judges, arriving from the neighboring Gulf Country and India. They are well known personalities, proficient in their respective genre in the Konkani Music Industry, admired and elevated for their contributions to the community. The performance of the singers will be accompanied with live music arranged by popular persona Mr. Thushara Kuruvitige, which will set the floor ablaze.
Mr. Stanley Fernandes the Chairman of the Oman organizing committee – GVOM 4, in his press note to Daijiworld said,
“ MCCP Oman is privileged and honored to stage the fourth edition of the Gulf Voice of Mangalore in Oman, a unique Konkani Singing Talent Hunt Show to promote Konkani Music / Language and to unite the Mangalorean Community residing in all the six Gulf countries. For the success of the event, a MCCP core team with the President and Executive Committee of MCCP, have formed GVOM Steering Committee to make this prestigious mega event memorable one to every one concerned. The highly motivated and dedicated steering committee under the leadership of Clarence Pinto engaged in meticulous planning and execution of the Gulf Voice of Mangalore Season IV.
Oman is all set to witness a battle of voices as the twelve semi-finalists on 19th Sept. 2014, being held at Sts. Peter & Paul Church Parish Hall, better the good in them to be the best. Only one male and one female will emerge as the finalist and represent Oman in the finals of the Gulf Voice of Mangalore – Season 4 being held on 7th Nov 2014, at Al Falaj Hotel, Muscat; putting them one step closer to the title of ‘Gulf Voice of Mangalore 2014’.
