Udupi: Astro Mohan bags IIPC, ASoF associateship

Udupi, Sep 5: The India International Photographic Council (IIPC) and School of Fototechnik, New Delhi has selected news photographer of Udayavani, a Kannada daily Astro Mohan of Udupi for its associateship in recognition of his contributions to the field of photojournalism and educational training, in particular.

Mohan has about 21 years experience in the field of press photography. He toured widely across the length and breadth of the country to capture images and moments on different subjects.

He took up the vocation as a freelancer for Hosadigantha Kannada newspaper in the beginning of his career. Presently, he trains students of self-employment courses in photography offered by RUDSET Institute and various colleges here.

Apart from this, he is fond of exploring the country to quench his thirst for photography.

Participation

The lensman showcased his photographic acumen even earlier, by participating in several photo-exhibition competitions and walked away with accolades/prizes for his pictures. The IIPC and ASoF presented him with a certificate on the associateship at a function held at New Delhi on World Photography Day.

Recognizations

Nine medals, 51 awards, 29 certificates of merit, 148 photographs and slides are accepted and exhibited at National and International level since 1994.
