New governor gets official invite to attend Mysore Dasara

Bangalore, Sep 3: Karnataka’s new Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala was officially invited to participate in the world-famous Mysore Dasara celebrations in Bangalore on Tuesday.

The official invitation from the State Government was extended by Revenue Minister V Srinivasa Prasad, who called on the new Governor, at Raj Bhavan.

The minister was accompanied by the President and other members of the Mysore Dasara Celebrations Committee.

Prasad, who is also heading the Mysore DasaraWelcome Committee, called on Vala at the Raj Bhavan and invited him to participate in Dasara festivities in Mysore commenced from September 25.


Ganesh Prakash Hukkeri Takes Oath as MLA

Meanwhile, the newly elected Congress MLA from Ganesh Prakash Hukkeri, who was elected to the State Legislative Assembly in the recent by-election from the Chikkodi-Sadalga assembly constitutency, took the oath as the member of the assembly at a simple function in VidhanaSoudha.

The Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa administered the oath to the new member in his chambers in the Vidhana Soudha.

Ganesh Prakash Hukkeri is filling up the seat held by his father Prakash Hukkeri, who vacated it following his election to the Lok Sabha.

The Congress member had defeated BJP’s Mahantesh M Kavatagimath by a margin of 31,820.
