Panaji, Sep 12: Investigations into Bina Ramani’s alleged forgery were focused in Goa today with the special investigating team (SIT) lending in this coastal state along with Ramani herself to search her properties.

The team along with the local crime branch sleuths searched Ramani’s house and a fashion boutique in the coastal Candolim village. The search went on till afternoon. Ramani, a key witness in the Jessica Lall murder case and accused of forgery and cheating, was calm throughout the search and accompanied police in their vehicle to the Goa Reserve police station in Panaji city.

"We do not know the details of the search. Basically, they were looking out for some documents", Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ujwal Mishra, stated.

The sources disclosed that SIT wanted to recover the forged documents that Ramani had allegedly furnished for procuring licence for running a restaurant in south Delhi.

"Our sleuths were accompanying SIT during their raids.. It is entirely SIT's operation", Mishra said refusing to divulge further details.

Police said that the SIT was supposed to airdash to Delhi back in the evening.
