Udupi, Sep 1: A protest will be held in front of the office of Udupi Deputy Commissioner on Saturday September 6, 2014 from 10 am to 5 pm urging a transfer of the investigation to CBI concerning a multi crore chemical scam that has occurred in 19 districts of the state, said Rama Diwana, president of Karnataka People forum.
Rama Diwana further said that it was necessary to investigate the matter by the CBI for the part played by U T Khader, Minister of health, Aravinda Limbavali who was the then health minister in last BJP government, MLA Pramodh Madhwaraj of Udupi assembly constituency, Madan Gopal, chief secretary of Karnataka state health and family welfare department, commissioner V B Patil, director Dr Dhanya Kumar, Dr K B Ishwarappa, additional director of the department of medicine, other higher officials in the state, deputy commissioners of 19 districts, district health and family welfare department officers and district surgeons.
Udupi district blood bank department medical official Dr Sharath Kumar Rao J who brought the scam to the notice of officials has been suspended on trivial issue without proper investigation. He has not been reinstated even after nearly one year. He and some women witnesses of multi crore scandal are being harassed, he added.
“The affected people are not given justice. Instead of punishing the guilty, they are being protected. The protest on September 6 will be a first stage and it will be spread in different stages in the state and the capital of the country”, he said.
Rama Diwana has asked anti corruption activists and those who struggle for justice to join hands in the protests and cooperate.
