Kuwait Sep 10: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), one of the largest associations in Kuwait celebrated the Monthi Fest on September 10th at the Holy Family Cathedral Church Kuwait under the presidentship of Steven Machado.  The celebrations commenced at 4.15 pm with a blessing of Novem (New harvest) by Fr. Melwyn D’ Cunha followed by a mass in Konkani.

Every year KCWA has been organizing a cultural program to entertain the audience. This year cultural Program was cancelled as a mark of respect to the departed soul of KCWA's senior family member Johny Misquith (Suratkal) who was also the founder and a very active member of KCWA.  All the volunteers were wearing black ribbon on their badges to respect the departed soul of Johny as a sign of mourning.  As the cultural Program has been cancelled, Felicitation for Children who received First Holy Communion in 2006 is postponed for the next event of KCWA- X'mas Tree celebration on 8th December 2006.

More than 3,000 people took part in the traditional Fellowship Dinner  followed by distribution of Blessed corn. KCWA has been following this tradition from a very long time.

The food was catered by M & M confectionery, Ceasers and by one of the member of Johny's "Tip Top Caterers"
