Bantwal, Aug 23: A Bantwal high school level zonal Kabaddi tournament was held at Ajjibettu school under the joint aegis of Dakshina Kannada district panchayat, Department of Public Instruction, office of area education officers and government pre university college, Ajjibettu.

B Mohan, member of Bantwal Municipal Council speaking after inaugurating the programme said that when the government supports Kabaddi like other sports, sportsmen would participate with enthusiasm. "Only when all the sports are looked upon equally without discrimination, is when the survival of the sports and sportsmen is possible," he said.

Area education officer Sheshashayana Karinja, physical education inspector Gurunatha B Bagewadi, country level Kabaddi player Baby Kunder, community resource person Venkat Rao, high school co-teacher association president Joy Lobo, school parent teacher association
member Sridhar Amin, primary school parent teacher association president Keshava and primary school headmistress Kushala were present.

School headmistress Sudha V Kalmane welcomed. Teacher Vani proposed the vote of thanks. Teacher Geetha compered the programme.
