Mangalore, Aug 11: "To mark the first anniversary of Sammilan Shetty's Butterfly Park and to educate students about the importance of butterfly conservation, Sammilan Shetty's Butterfly Park will hold a free awareness programme for students," said Sammilan Shetty, founder of Sammilan Shetty's Butterfly Park.
He was addressing a press meet here at the press club on Monday August 11.
He said that butterflies play an important role in our ecosystem. "Butterfly species are declining due to urbanization, pesticides and insecticides. Hence to create awarness among students, Sammilan Shetty's Butterfly Park will organize a free awarness programme from August 15 to 21. The programme will focus on educating students about butterfles and their need for conservation. Presntly there are 122 butterfly species in the park," he added.
