Mangalore, Aug 11: Konkani Natak Sabha®(KNS) Mangalore organized the 51st inter-parish singing competition for adults of different parishes of Mangalore Diocese at Don Bosco Hall here on Sunday August 10.
The competition was held in two parts - out of city parishes and city parishes in the category of above 15 years. 56 competitors from seven parishes took part in the out of city parishes for the ladies and gents solo, ladies and gents duet, mixed group and married couple. Gurpur parish bagged the first place, Nithyadhar Nagar won the second, Allipade and Hosept parish the third.
Among the city parishes, 61 competitors from nine parishes took part in ladies and gents solo, ladies and gents duet, mixed group and married couple. Cordel parish bagged the first place, Valencia parish the second, Cascia and Bajal parish the third.
In the out of city parishes Nithyadhar Nagar parish and among city parishes Cordel parish bagged the overall championship.
Rony Crasta, Alwyn D’Cunha and Anitha Rodrigues were the judges.
President Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Martin D’Souza and Raymond D’Cunha compered, while treasurer Prem Lobo introduced the judges. General secretary Sunil Menezes proposed the vote of thanks and convenor Felix Sequeira announced the results.
