Udupi, Aug 9: Fishing vessel ‘Ashlesha’ was rescued by the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel here on Friday August 8.

Mangalore official Commandent Rajindar Singh Saphal received the information that the mechanized fishing vessel ‘Ashlesha’ was stranded in Malpe coast due to the engine failure. On receiving the information, the Indian Coast Guard ship 'Savithribai Phule' immediately sailed from Mangalore to provide assistance.

ICG ship towed the fishing vessel to the Malpe Fishing Harbour at 6 pm on Friday. 

The fishing vessel belongs to Raghuram Giliyaru.

The operation was carried out by Commandent T Ashish.
