Margao, Aug 12:: Blood samples of Nine residents of Gawalliwada–Fatorda were taken by Urban Health Centre of Margao, to send it to Puna Laboratory to check whether they are suffering from the Chikungunya, today morning.
These people were suffering from normal fever. But one woman who came Hubli-Karnataka, had a symptom of Chikungunya, she has a joint pain as well as normal fever. Locals says that this women would have caught virus of the chikunguniya in Karnataka and when she stayed in this locality it scattered, claiming 19 people with fever.
Regarding this when contacted health officials they said that recently this disease is found in some places of Karnataka, and they didn’t ruled out the possibilities of viral infection would have come from this woman.
"We are not sure whether all these people are suffering from Chikunguniya, none of the symptoms match their illness, only one woman claimed that she has some joint pains. We will come to know only when the blood sample report comes from Pune," said Medical superintendent of Urban Health Centre, Anju Karangate while speaking to daijiworld correspondent.
Now people will have to stay with fear till the reports arrive in Goa from Pune.
