Mangalore, Jul 19: “The Siddaramaiah-led state government has failed to control the increased sexual assaults against women in the state. There is no proper protection for women. Rapes and sexual assaults are rampantly increasing,” said Kishor Kumar, state vice-president, BJP Yuva Morcha.
He was addressing the gathering after organizing a protest and human chain against the state government at PVS Circle on Friday July 18.
Kumar also said, “In the Assembly, when there was a serious debate on the increasing rapes in the state, the chief minster was dozing without considering this as a serious issue. Hence, the BJP Yuva Morcha demands the resignation of the chief minister and the home minster.”
Kathyani Seetharam of BJP Mahila Morcha said, “Mahatma Gandhi said that real freedom is when women can walk alone at midnight, but in the contemporary scenario, women cannot walk without fear ever in broad daylight. In the country, Karnataka stands at the third place in the number of reported sexual assaults.”
Captain Brijesh Chowta said, “Even in the district, many rape cases have been reported. Yuva Morcha will fight till the rape victims get justice. If justice is denied, we will waylay the district-in-charge minister’s car and wave black flags.”
On this occasion, Ranjan B Gowda and Ravishankar Mijar were present.
