Panaji, Aug 9: For the last two days, Goa has been literally caught in whirlwind of the ongoing monsoon.
 
The Goa meteorological department has once again predicted some more heavy showers in the state during the next 48 hours. Because of the heavy gusty monsoon winds, many huge trees were uprooted.

Sankhali town has been put on high alert on the grounds that the town may face flood due to the high overflowing water level of anjunem dam.

The water level in the Anjunem dam had almost reached the danger mark but now with the dam vents (4 out of the 7) being opened partially, the level is now coming back to the normal mark.

There was a cyclonic wind hitting Santa Cruz village in Panaji on Wednesday morning uprooting many tress and damaging houses but no human casualties have been reported.
