Udupi, Jul 15: The members of Popular Front of India (PFI) staged a protest against Israel, near Clock Tower, service bus stand, Udupi, on Monday July 14.
On Sunday July 13, the death toll in Israel's air raids rose to 166, more than two-thirds of whom were civilians, including innocent children, women, and the disabled. Over 1,000 Palestinians were injured during the last seven days of Israel's offensive.
The PFI held a massive protest shouting slogans against Israel and claiming solidarity with Gaza. About 100 people were gathered here.
Shafi Bellary, member of PFI, Mangalore, addressed the gathering and said, “The new government is now keeping its mouth shut at the cruelty of the Israeli government. America has also joined hands with this
cruelty.”
He urged intervention of the government to settle the dispute and separation of Gaza. Bellary questioned why the UN was keeping silent and alleged that the capitalists were also involved in the carnage.
Isaram, Abdul Rehman, PFI President, Udupi, and Sadiq Abuvazi were present.
