Sullia, Aug 4: The police have managed to arrest one person in connection with the theft case in the BSNL office here.

A M Aziz (19), a resident of Ajjavar near here was arrested by Sullia police on Thursday August 3 from his house.  The police have recovered a part of stolen cash Rs 54,000, a mobile handset and few re-charge coupons from the arrested.  The police have also seized a mobike and a few instruments used in breaking open the shutter.

As reported earlier thieves who entered the BSNL office at Car Street here on July 17 night had decamped with a few SIM cards, a mobile handset, some recharge coupons and Rs 83,000 in cash.  The thieves had entered the office by breaking open the shutter.
A complaint was filed in the Sullia police station in this regard.

The accused who is a local petty offender has been produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate and remanded for judicial custody.
