Mangalore, Jul 31: A lorry cleaner was killed after he was run over by reversing lorry within the New Mangalore Port complex here on Sunday July 30 afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Srikanth (23), a resident of Yadgiri in Gulbarga district. On Sunday he was directing the lorry driver for reversing at the Kudremukh lease yard when the lorry came in a zip and ran over him.
As a result he sustained critical injuries and died. It is said that the negligence by lorry driver Umesh is the prime cause for the mishap.
The Panambur police have registered a case in the regard as per the complaint filed by yard supervisor Sathish.
