Puttur, Jul 30: Puttur witnessed another group clash on Saturday night. Two groups engaged in a fight in Manjalpady on the suburbs of Puttur.

The clash is said to have been incensed by an old rivalry between the groups.

On Saturday at around 8 pm, the two groups engaged in a clash near a bar. It is said weapons were also used in the fight.

According to Lokesh Naik who had injuries on the head, a group of 12 members including one Jossley and Prashant allegedly attacked him. Naik was later admitted to Pragathi Hospital here.

The police have arrested Josley in the case.

Naveen Shetty belonging to the other group was also injured and was admitted to Mahaveer Hospital. In his complaint, he has alleged that Lokesh, Raghav and others had assaulted him.

Hundreds gathered in front of the hospital which triggered tension in the region. Police had to intervene to avoid any untoward occurrence.
