Bangalore, Jul 1: Sweden’s Ambassador to India Herald Sandberg invited Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to Sweden to showcase its latest technology in solid waste management and urban transport system to the State Government.
Sandberg, who called on the Chief Minister in his office in VidhanaSoudha on Tuesday, extended the invitation to visit Sweden from August 17 to 21.
The Ambassador met Siddaramaiah at the latter’s office in the State Secretariat and discussed various industry related issues in the presence of Commerce and Industry department officials.
World’s largest bus and truck manufacturers such as Volvo and Scania are based in Sweden. Moreover, Sweden has developed technology to manage solid waste.
Various Swedish companies such as ABB, SKF, Astra Zeneca, Hennes&Mauritz, Volvo Trucks, SSAB and the more recent Scania have chosen Bangalore over other places to start their business.
There are about 170 Swedish companies established their operations in India.
Siddaramaiah said he would visit Sweden and make every attempt to attract investment to the State.
The State has decided to hold a Global Investors’ Meet in Bangalore on February 2015 to attract investment in various sectors of the economy.
