Panaji, Jul 26: A four-day 40th Anniversary International Conference of LAWASIA, (the Law Association for Asia and the Pacific) on trade, technology, communications and energy, will be held in south Goa from September 29, officials stated.
"Among the issues of concern to the countries in the region, the conference, with the expected participation of legal experts from 22 countries, will debate the "Impact of global terrorism on cross-border trade," stated Lalit Bhasin, chairman, organizing committee and president, Bar Association of India (BAI).
He said that the conference would deliberate over wider issues of economies of the countries in the region in the context of globalization. The conference, to be hosted by the BAI, the Society of Indian Law Firms (SILFs) and LAWASIA India Chapter, will be inaugurated by Union Law Minister H R Bharadwaj.
The president of LAWASIA, Jung Hoon Lee, of Korea as well as the incoming president, Mah Weng Kwai, from Malyasia will be present at the conference.
