Bangalore, Jun 26: A flashy red and white car stands outside his fairy tale red and white house. When you step inside, the feeling that you are in a fairy land gets all the more stronger. It's a world where only two colours - red and white - exist.
Meet 44-year-old real estate agent Sevenraj, who has soaked his life in red and white colours. The fetish for these colours started as a publicity stunt to create a brand image for his real estate agency, and went on to become a part and parcel of his life, his family, and of course, his work.
The name 'Sevenraj' was given by his father as he was the seventh child born to his parents. Sevenraj is obsessed with using the number seven for his vehicles and mobile numbers (777). He has even learnt seven languages and insists on having seven buttons on his blazers. It is said that good fortune never deserted Sevenraj and his father since he was given this unusual name.
In addition to this, he started living life in red and white colours. In all walks of life, he is surrounded by red and white. His house, vehicle, clothes, utensils, upholstery, even the toothpaste, toothbrushes and almost everything that he and his family of four use are made of colors of red and white. What's more, even his son and daughter have also inherited this obsession.
According to Sevenraj, he wants to be recognized by society from the colors and the number ‘7’. As people identify Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, by his spectacles he wants the people to associate the number and the colors with him.
Sevenraj's family is popularly known as 'Red and White Family' in Bangalore. They have been featured in a number of media, including national and international ones for their unusual tastes. The family even finds a mention in India Book of Records under 'Strange but True' category. Indeed, Sevenraj is one person you are not likely to miss if you happen to pass by him on road!
