Mangalore, Jul 22: S H Anjanappa has taken over as the new head of Mangalore Akashvani recently.  So far he was the assistant director of Mangalore Akashvani.

He hails from Suddekunte in Madhugiri taluk of Tumkur district and began his career in Bhadravati Akashvani in 1979.  He also offered his services at Dharwad, Bhadravati, Chitradurga and Delhi.

After being promoted as programme in-charge he rendered his services in Bangalore and Anantpura in Andhra Pradesh.   He has a special interest in folklores and has done extensive programmes on different folks.  He has undertaken a special study on Kunbi tribe and has even a book about them.
