Mangalore, Jul 19: "World Konkani Day" will be celebrated jointly by Konkani Bhasha Mandal and Akhil Bharat Konkani Parishat on Saturday August 19.
This was decided at a meeting held recently at the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy office here. The meeting was presided over by academy president Eric Ozario and was attended by office bearers of various Konkani organizations, Konkani Bhasha Mandal and president of Akhil Bharat Konkani Parishat.
It was also decided to hold "Konkani Fuddara Diwas" on Sunday August 20 at Town Hall here. Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy would organize "Konkani Fuddara Diwas" and members, office bearers of various Konkani organizations, teachers who have come forward to teach Konkani in schools, students, Konkani artistes, writers and others are expected to participate in the programme.
