Panaji, Jul 17: Margao town residents in South Goa on Sunday wake up to the shock when they found pieces of papers with anti-Hindu slogans written on it and attributing it to the SIMI scattered in their locality.

The residents led by local legislator Damodar Naik reported the matter to the police, who had not registered a formal case in this matter, till going to the press.

'`We are probing into the pieces of papers," Goa chief minister Pratapsingh Rane told the state legislative assembly today when it met this afternoon.

The questionmark on the authenticity of these pieces of papers is raised as slogans are written with a sketch pen on the A4 size paper. The police are probing whether this can be a case of mischief.

Quoting police investigations, the chief minister Rane on Monday said that HDFC bank account sheets of Mahindra and Mahindra company which is operated by a Mumbai-based person have been used to for the purpose.

"Further investigations into the matter is on and we have intensified police patrolling in the area," the chief minister told the state legislative assembly.

BJP legislator Damodar Naik on Monday brought up matter during zero hour in the house on Monday.  "Till now, police have not registered a case into this regards," Naik pointed out alleging that law and order situation in the state is worsening.
