Mangalore, Jun 12: "The family issues of Ibrahim Sheikh from Kotekar and his family have stepped into the police station. As per their directions, the Mangalore rural police inspector Harish Kumar had finished the case on compromise," said M G Hegde.
As he was addressing the media at the press club, here on Thursday, June 12, he said, "The Tulunada Rakshana Vedike strongly condemns the act of the Mangalore City Commissioner for his unscientific steps of the suspension."
"Any further investigation with regard to the property related issue is to be carried out by the court. The inspector has left the lady along with his husband, as per her request. His suspension has to be immediately taken back; if failed to do so, the Tulunada Rakshana Vedike will hold a massive protest in front of the DC's office in the coming days," he warned.
"And if at all this is not the case for his suspension, the commissioner must reveal the truth behind his suspension. As per the regulations and rules, maximum priority has to be given to compromise, especially when it is a family related issue," he added.
"There are no developments and improvements seen in the home department. The home minister is helpless and unfit with regard to the law and order in the state. The case has been resolved and the family has been united. What message is the commissioner trying to give to the society by the suspension of an inspector," he questioned.
"The commissioner has been misusing his powers and is being manipulated due to external pressure and influence," he concluded.
Leaders, Yogeesh Kumar Jeppu, Jyothika Jain, Riyaz Harekala and Jyothi Bhat were present.
