Mangalore, Jun 11: "There are hidden hands behind the recent attack on the policemen inside the district jail. The case must be handed over to the CBI for a clear and transparent investigation," said Kumar Malemar, state vice-president of Sri Rama Sene, addressing media persons here on Wednesday, June 11.

"The jail inmates who belong to a particular community have attacked the policemen including the ACP. Sri Ram Sene strongly condemns this act. Looking at this incident, it is quite clear that it was a pre-planned attack and some hidden hands are suspcted to be involved. Clear and transparent investigation must be carried out and thus Sri Rama Sene urges for a CBI probe into the case," he said.

"Rationalist M M Kalaburgi, speaking about the contents in the book written by U R Ananthmurthy, a literary figure who has lost his mental stability, has questioned as to what would happen if we piss on idols in worship centres when there are crores of money in the donation boxes underneath. Sri Ram Sene condemns this statement by such a low-grade rationalist.

"If he has guts, let him come to coastal belt and do what he says in the worship centres here, especially in the spirit worship centres. Sri Rama Sene will see how he gets out safe from here. This is a serious warning from the Sri Rama Sene," he said.

"Instead of the government bringing in Anti-Superstition Bill, let it take strict legal action against those who make untoward and intolerable statements that hurt the sentiments of the Hindus," he added.

Jeevan Neermarga, Ganesh Attavar and others were present.
