Mangalore, Jun 8: A youth disguised himself as a kerosene seller and robbed Rs 3000 from a tailor in Gurpur on Saturday June 7. He was later handed over to the police.
Sources said that he went to a ladies tailoring shop in Gurpur, diverted the attention of the tailor and robbed Rs 3000. He was later caught by the public and was handed over to Bajpe police when he was trying to escape.
According to the sources, he is a drunkard called Sunil who sleeps in the bus stand.
It is said that he went to the shop around 12 pm and forced her to buy 30 litres of kerosene.
The lady had gone to the neighbouring shop to ask if they needed kerosene when Sunil looted her shop.
The localites who learnt about the robbery caught him in Vamanjoor and handed him over to the police.
The amount was given back to the lady.
A case has been registered.
