Udupi, Jan 13: H Dhananjaya Bangera (75), a prominent leader of the Mogaveera community, social worker and former chairman of Hejmady gram panchayat, passed away on the early morning of Wednesday, July 12.

Bangera had served as secretary and president of Hejmady Mogaveera Sabha and also as chairman of Hejmady gram panchayat between 1978 and 1983.

He was a founder-member of All Karnataka Fishermens' Council founded in 1956, director of South Kanara and Udup Fisheries Marketing Federation from 1956 to 1970 and held posts and positions in several other organizations.
