Mangalore, May 29: The Mangalore Productivity Council will organize a one day seminar on Fire Fighting on Thursday June 5 from 2 pm to 5 pm at SDM Law college auditorium, Mangalore.
Speaking to the media on Thursday May 29 at the press club, the president of the Mangalore Productivity Council U Rama Rao said that people should not panic during a fire attack, they have to be calm and do the work.
"This seminar will be very useful for small companies, because in big companies like MRPL and NMPT there are guards to douse the fire, but in the small firms they lack any guards to clear the fire and hence fall for the fire attack," he said.
He also mentioned that the Mangalore Productivity Council has been giving seminars from the past three months in various places and said that they have got a good response from everyone.
Varadharajan, the chief fire officer, fire station Pandeshwar and his team, K S Ponnappa, chief security officer, Karnataka Bank Limited will be the resource persons for the seminar and the entry fee is Rs 200.
The main objective of the council is to equip participants with requisite skills to tackle fire, gas release, chemical spillage and so on.
This seminar is mainly targeted for the machine operators, technicians, safety and security personnels, maintenance engineers, housewives and for those who are interested in saving lives and property.
"Certificates will be given for those who attend the seminar; this will be useful for their academics," said Rama Rao.
P B Saralaya, K V Sitharam, B Prakash Rao, P Ravindra Rao and others were present during the press meet.
