Mangalore : IPL betting - Two arrested, Rs 6.5 lac seized

Mangalore, May 21: Cracking down on the increasing number of gambling and IPL betting hubs around Mangalore, a police team headed by CCB inspector Valentine D'Souza on Tuesday May 20 raided an office in Kodialbail which was engaged in IPL betting.

Two persons were arrested on the spot and cash over Rs 6.5 lac was seized.

The arrested have been identified as Vineeth and Vijaykumar.

Police have also reportedly received information that there are a few more betting hubs operating in city. More raids are expected in the coming days, according to police sources.

A case was filed in Barke police station against the two accused.

    In mangalore now a days youths are involving in betting because of easy money. mangalore police know this very well but their getting haftha on time who not giving they will arrested. if you seen at evening visit fish land circuit house there is some young star openly taking betting through public.

    Well done Mr. Valantine. Betting on IPL matches is so common these days. In fact we as a family went for dinner to a local restaurant few days ago and sat in a corner when one IPL match was going on. There was another table with a couple of youngsters openly talking on cell phones about betting and we wondered what is happening..!!
    May be a closer look at this issue, you will catch bigger sharks with better money in betting. Good Luck Police dept.!!
