Bantwal: Heavy traffic creates problems for commuters

Bantwal, May 20: It took almost an hour to cross half a kilometre stretch on the national highway here in the city; though hard to believe it is a fact.

A road block that erupted at B C Road in the morning continued throughout the day, creating a massive problem to the commuters.


The vehicular movement from B C Road Kaikamba to B C Road bus stand took almost an hour. The traffic was heavy as there were too many functions in the surrounding areas.

The Bantwal traffic police worked hard the whole day to make sure the traffic moved smoothly.

    It is utter foolishness of the contractor to make the flyover as one way traffic and allowing the vehicles moving from mangalore via city. This actually causes block in the city.
    If the express vehicles are allowed to move via flyover (two way), it will reduce most of the block in the city.
    Moreover, flyover was not required at BCroad junction :)

    What Nalin Kumar Kateel is doing all this while? He is the MP for the 2nd time. does he have time to look into these basic problems faced by the people?

    I visited this place 3 times recently, almost noon time and unfortunately every visit I faced this traffic jam. What's the hell these local leaders or politicians are doing ? it's so evident and everybody knows about this problem and these authorities are silent. No idea why the hell they don't care. is it like for the money ? if so, let them beg with all of us, we will give them money and god's sake clear this problem. why not the organizations like Rotary, Lions interfere and see what best can be done. if anybody comes in between to stop the solution, expose them to the public and say here is the guy who is the reason for this unresolved problem. we the public will take care of him. but for god's sake solve this problem. above this, they are happy to collect toll. who the hell will pay when you are not able to provide a good maintenances roads... sucks.

    Construction of Highway in snails pace is main reason along with narrow unscientific flyover construction is also to be blamed here for causing these logjam traffic snarls.
    The flyover need to continue further to eliminate highway commuters need to enter the circle to climb on it.
    This road stretch is highly accident prone.
