Ayodhya, Jul 2: A year after the abortive attack on the makeshift Ram janambhoomi Temple Complex in Ayodhya, the district administration has served notices to people living near the boundary walls to vacate within three days or face eviction to ensure fool-proof security.
It would be erecting watchtowers and barricading the entire land around the boundary walls owned by the Uttar Pradesh state tourism department, officials said today.
Terrorists gained entry and made an abortive strike on the complex housing the makeshift Ram Janambhoomi temple on July 5 last year from the area facing the boundary walls, they said.
There were several hutments and concrete houses in the area and they had been served notices to vacate the land within 72 hours, the officials said.
They said decision follows a visit to the complex by the Faizabad range Deputy Inspector-General of police on June 21 to review the security arrangements.
The administration had also tightened security around the twin towns of Faizabad-Ayodhya ahead of the first anniversary of the attack, they said.
