Mangalore: Father Muller School and College of Nursing hosts 'Udaan'

In order to mark the International Nurses Week, the Student Nurses’ Association of Father Muller School and College of Nursing is organizing UDAAN, a cultural fest from May 8to May 10.

The three-day cultural extravaganza UDAAN signifies flying and aiming high and reaching the stars.










The programme was inaugurated by unfolding the theme.

Sr Winnifred, principal Father Muller College of Nursing, Jasmine Saritha Vas, principal Father Muller School of Nursing, Joshwita S Fernandes, SNA advisor Father Muller College of Nursing and Sharon, SNA advisor Father Muller School of Nursing were the dignitaries on the dias.

Sr Winnifred, reflecting on the idea for having a week long celebration for the nurses, while all the other significant events are celebrated only for a day, said, "The idea behind this is to pay tribute to the nurses for the service they render to  every sector of the society. It is a noble profession. They serve the humanity from womb to tomb. Nurses are an important workforce in the health care industry. But many a times their services go unrecognized. Their selfless and noble service sholud be honoured and brought to the notice of the people.”

Advising the students she said, “Let there be a healthy competition, good participative spirit, encouragement, appreciation and respect for one another."

She concluded by wishing that the event promotes leadership and a good relationship among one another.

Udaan 2014 is a three-day cultural extravaganza where the students will display their talents and competitive spirit. The students are all ready to set the stage on fire.
