Mangalore, Jun 27: The weather department has said that the coastal belt will received heavy rains couples with strong winds in the next 24 hours. Rains are also expected to lash the northern parts of the state.
The fishermen have been warned against getting into the sea for fishing as strong winds at a speed of 45-55 kilometres are expected to breeze past the coastal areas.

While Monday June 26 recorded moderate rainfall throughout the coastal belt, people were panicked by increasing sea erosion in most of parts of the coastal belt. Ulall, Kotekar in Dakshina Kannada district and Padukere and surrounding areas in Udupi reported sea erosion.
While Mangalore taluk received 82.8 mm of rains, 123.4 mm rainfall recorded in Bantwal. Beltangady reported lowest rainfall for the day with 61.8 mm while Puttur received 90 mm and Sullia 82 mm.
