Bantwal: Vojem procession held at St Francis Assisi Church

Bantwal, May 6: A Vojem procession was held in view of the inauguration and blessing of the new church of St Francis Assisi at Nainadu on Sunday May 4.

The Vojem procession was inaugurated by the chief guest Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, parish priest of Madanthyar church at Neralakatte Junction at 3 pm.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

All wards of the parish, denary parishes and local associations along with Hindu and Muslim brothers and sisters participated in it with pomp and glory. This grand and huge Vojem Procession was presided over by Fr Fredrick Montheiro, Parish priest of Nainad Church.

The procession was followed by a short stage programme.  U S Chandrashekar Bhat former president, Philathbettu VSS Bank, Bharathi Shetty, president of Philathbettu Grama Panchayath and Br Alban Pinto, administrator of St Antony School, Goa were the guests of honour.


Fr James D’Souza, vicar forane of Belthangady denary along with denary priests and neighboring parish priests added beauty to the programme.

The programme was compered by Noel, Gilbert, Ashok and Ancilla. Fr Fredrick welcomed and Lawrence thanked the gathering.

The inauguration and blessing of the new Church is scheduled to be held on Thursday May 8, 2014 at 9.30 am by Rev Dr Aloysius  P D’ Souza Bishop of Mangalore and Rev Dr Robert Miranda Bishop of Gulbarga.  The organizers have extended a warm invitation to all.
