Kathmandu, Jun 25: Two Indians have been arrested on charges of carrying illegal weapons, the police said.
The Indians were arrested while carrying arms from Birgunj sub-metropolies near Raxaul, the National News Agency said citing police sources. The duo was identified as Ashok Singh and Dilshad Ahmed.
In a separate incident, the police seized huge amount of hashish from a truck near the Indian border. The police have seized 1,645 kg hashish from a truck in Jitpur under Bara district near Indian border and confiscated the narcotic, which was being transported from Parwanipur in Parsa district to Lahan in Siraha.
The truck driver and cleaner have been arrested during traffic checking, the police said.
Acting on a tip off, a police team led by inspector Jayram Singh arrested the duo and confiscated the illegal drugs. Further investigation was on, the police said.
