Mangalore: Catholic Sabha, Bondel hosts 'Konkani Utsav'

Mangalore, May 5: A unique Konkani cultural programme was arranged for the Konkani lovers of Bondel  area by Catholic Sabha Bondel unit in association with Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy. 

Konkani Mandow, Gumta songs by Alphonse D’souza Niddodi and team, other dances and traditional cultural dances like Rope Dance and Stick Dance was performed by Gopala Gowda and team.

























Mahabala Maarla, mayor; Kavitha Vasu deputy mayor, Roy Castelinho president Konkani Sahithya Acadamy,  Stany Alvares president Konkani Prachar Sachalan and Dr Rita Pinto were felicitated.  

Fr Andrew D’souza parish priest, Fr Patrick Sequeira assistant parish priest,  Henbert Pinto, vice president, Wilfred Alvares secretary, PPC, Lancy Tauro President Catholic Sabha Bondel were present for the function.

    It was a wonderful program. Hats off the Mr Lancy D'Cunha and the Catholic Sabha for organising such a wonderful program. The Program highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Konkani. We should have more programs like this to educate the people on the rich Konkani culture.
