Chennai, May 2 (PTI): The Tamil Nadu special investigative wing probing the twin bomb blasts on the Bangalore-Guwahati Express suspect that the explosives could have been planted at Bangalore.
Sources in the investigation agency, which rushed a team to Bangalore to pursue the new leads it stumbled on has information that the perpetrators of the explosion could have got support from sleeper modules working in Karnataka.

An official refusing to be named told PTI here that information so far collated by it suggest that the bomb fitted with a timer devise could have been planted at Bangalore.
The CB-CID police have been interacting with neighbouring state police and viewing CCTV footages of Chennai Central Railway station, the scene of the blast, sources said.
"We are studying the footages to see if the accused actually travelled in the train", the official said.
The train, which left Bangalore on April 30 at about 1135 hrs, arrived here yesterday by 7.10 AM and was delayed by about an hour. Ten minutes after its arrival, two low-intensity bombs exploded in quick succession, killing a woman techie and injuring 14 others.
In another development a six-member NSG team led by Lt. Col. Balakrishna arrived here late last night to assist the state police in the ongoing investigation into the explosions, sources said.
The NSG team held discussions with top police officials of the state on the incident, the sources said.

State under heightened vigil after Chennai explosion
Bangalore, May 2 (DHNS): Security has been heightened across the State, especially at major railway stations, after the blast inside the Bangalore-Guwahati Express train in Chennai on Thursday morning.
Superintendents of Police and Commissioners of Police have been directed to ensure foolproof security at public places, bus stands, railway stations, malls, airports, vital installations and iconic structures, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) M N Reddi said, after taking stock of security measures at the Bangalore City and Yeshwantpur stations.
Additional checkposts have been set up in areas bordering Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Additional forces have been deployed for thorough checking of vehicles, he said.
The Bangalore City police tightened security at Majestic, Shivajinagar, KR Market, malls, the Kempegowda International Airport, religious places and other public places. Additional forces were deployed in and around the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where an IPL T20 match is scheduled for May 4, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Kamal Pant said.
Forces from the City police, Railway police, Railway Protection Force (RPF), City Armed Reserve, the bomb detection and disposal squad and sniffer dogs were pressed into service. As many as 60 staff of the Railway police and an equal number of men from RPF were pressed into security duty at the City station.
About 40 men were deployed at the Yeshwantpur station. Additional men have been deployed at various railway stations in the State.
The police have been directed to look out for suspicious elements.
Senior police officers visited the stations and took stock of the situation for more than two hours soon after the blast. They held emergency meetings and issued directions to subordinate staff.
