Mangalore, Jun 19: The Central Beary Sahitya Parishat in collaboration with Teekays Foundation organised an education information workshop for Beary students on Sunday June 18 at NGO hall here.
The programme was inaugurated by P A Khader Kukkadi, educationist and president, Federation of Muslim Educational Institutions. Basheer Baikampady, former deputy mayor and vice-president of the parishat presided over the function. Amin Mudassar of Bangalore Career Guidance and Information Centre was the resource person. The chief guest was Abdul Raheem Teekay, director of the Foundation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mudassar stressed on the need of educating women and said that unless a woman is educated herself, she won't be able to teach her child.
Kukkadi urged the youth to take up careers they were interested in and make the best use of opportunities available to them.
M B Abdul Rehman, president of the parishat, and P A Rahim, president, Bantwal unit, were present on the occasion.
