Beltangady, Jun 19: The department of horticulture has prepared an action plan of Rs 8.11 crore for the Dakshina Kannada district, said taluk horticulture assistant director, S Sadashiva Rao.
He was speaking at the workshop on cultivation techniques of cashew and ginger organized by the Nagarika Seva Trust at Guruvayankere Bantara Bhavan here on Sunday June 18.
The activities would be implemented under the National Horticulture Mission. According to the plan, Beltangady would get Rs 85 lac.
Saplings were also distributed to farmers on the occasion. MLA Prabhakar Bangera, addressing the gathering, urged that the scheme should be implemented at the village level.
Among those present were Nagarika Seva Trust president Somnath Nayak, Beltangady TP president Narayana Gowda, TP vice-president L Chandu, ZP member E Sundar Gowda, Sundar Salian, Rajashree Hegde and Babu Mugera.
