Mangalore, Jun 19: Rajya Sabha member B Janardhan Poojary criticised former prime minister H D Deve Gowda for opposing the BMIC project and said that he has always be an obstacle to development works in the state.

He was speaking after releasing ‘Arivu’, the silver jubilee souvenir of the house journal of Venkatesh Shivabhakti Yoga Sangh, Gandhinagar at Kudroli Gokarnanata Temple premises on Sunday June 18.

Poojary also gave away free books to 600 poor students. He lauded the role of media and termed it as the fourth pillar of democracy along with Legislature, Executive and Judiciary.
